How to Apply for CMA USA?

STEP 1: Please make sure you adhere to the CMA exam eligibility criteria. Remember to adhere to education and experience criteria other than passing the CMA exams.

STEP 2: Next, you need to choose the relevant exam materials and prepare.

STEP 3: Register with the IMA, and become its member. Remember that you can become a member as a student or as a professional. Note that it is not compulsory to join the IMA until you are prepared to register for the exams.

STEP 4: Now, it is time to pay the CMA entry and exam registration fees. We recommend you pay it 6 to 8 weeks before you are ready to sit for your first exam. You have three years to pass both parts from the time you pay it, so you can give yourself more time to complete the exams if you wait. However, if you wait too long, you might not be able to schedule your exam date and time, especially if you are writing it towards the end of an exam window.

STEP 5: You will receive an authorization number from the IMA. You need it to schedule your exam date and time with Prometric.

STEP 6: Next, go ahead and schedule your exam date and time with Prometric. For this task, you need your authorization number. Also, note a 50 USD fee will be chargeable if you wish to reschedule it later. However, you cannot change the exam window.

STEP 7: Finally, Review the instructions. You need to know what to expect on exam day, what you should bring to the exam hall, and what you are not allowed to carry.
