The Mobilizing Insights in Defence and Security (MINDS) scholarship initiative is a collaboration between the Department of National Defence (DND) and the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC). The MINDS programme, which is divided into five pillars, is dedicated to developing the next generation of security and defence scholars in Canada's academic community and fostering a strong Canadian knowledge base on current defence and security issues.

A significant research component is required in an eligible graduate programme.
