Vocational training in India and many other countries is mainly non-formal and formal. Training can be in apprenticeships, certificate and diploma programs, workshops, seminars, and other training sessions.
Vocational courses after the 12th are becoming increasingly useful and popular. It is because of their growing importance that India's University Grants Commission (UGC) introduced degree-awarding vocational programmes such as Bachelor of Vocation (BVoc) and Master of Vocation (MVoc) into the Indian education system. Both degrees are meant to be at par with conventional degree programs like BSc and MSc.
Students can pursue this wide range of vocational courses after the 10th and 12th standards. They can also seek vocational training in various high-quality institutions abroad.
A vocational course is a training programme designed to emphasize and impart practical (and sometimes technical) knowledge and skills in a specific occupation/trade (or vocation). The need for vocational courses arises because of the several occupations not very practically covered by the formal education curriculum. Moreover, it has been argued that, unlike vocational education, other certifications from formal institutions such as universities tend to focus more on classroom teaching and theoretical knowledge rather than the practical application of knowledge. Because of this concern and their growing popularity, vocational courses are now being integrated into mainstream academic curriculums all over the world.
These short vocational training programmes help students acquire diverse workplace knowledge and skills for increased productivity. Course participants are awarded vocational certificates upon the completion of the programme. Students in 10th (or a bit lower) are eligible for such courses.
This is usually a 1-year (2 years for advanced diploma) vocational training programme that leads to a diploma certificate award. Being vocational implies that it emphasizes the acquisition of industry-specific practical skills instead of theoretical knowledge that often dominates non-vocational formal education. It is available for 10th standard students.

Bachelor of vocation is an undergraduate level degree program that aims to equip students with the knowledge/skills needed to be proficient in certain occupations. The programme lasts for 3 years, with each year having 2 semesters. Like other vocational training, the BVoc curriculum is biased toward practical training that will help students develop industry-specific skills needed for gainful employment in diverse sectors.Students of all 3 streams (Arts, Commerce, and Science) are eligible for BVoc. However, they must have completed 12th grade via any recognized board or concluded a diploma programme in an approved institute.
Master of Vocation is a 2-year postgraduate degree designed for students seeking to further develop the necessary skills and training required in their chosen careers. Like BVoc, it was also introduced by UGC to ensure that BVoc graduates can pursue further training if they desire. The MVoc curriculum focuses on practical training and knowledge like that of BVoc. The curriculum includes practical training sessions, laboratory sessions, and skill acquisition workshops, among others.
This innovative and pioneering programme seeks to deepen intellectualism and professionalism in the realm of skills development and make the field of vocational training more robust. It lasts for a minimum of 3 years and a maximum of 6 years.

In these exams, the construction and control of question papers and answer sheets are under the purview of central or state institutions to which schools are attached. Canada is a large, highly developed multi-racial country with an efficient education system. Because of its easier and faster immigration policies and more tolerance for foreign cultures, Indian students love Canada as a study destination. Specifically, Canada ranked only second to the UAE as the top destination for Indian diaspora students in 2021. Also, Indian students are the single largest contingent of international students in Canada.
Even at the height of the present global pandemic, more study permits were allocated to Indians. Added to all these is Canada's Post Graduate Work Permit policy, making it possible for international students to work in Canada after they graduate. Canada ranks high in the conventional form of education, but it also has excellent facilities for vocational courses.
The following are some after 12th vocational courses available in the maple leaf country.
