Eligibility Criteria to Study at University of North Texas

Applicants must meet the following eligibility standards to be admitted to the University of North Texas as an undergraduate or postgraduate student. Sections are divided into two groups for your convenience:

Undergraduate Eligibility

  • Graduation from a high school certified by the native country's Ministry of Education.
  • Official transcripts/diplomas (in both the local language and English) detailing all coursework and grades taken throughout the last three years of high school.
  • Official high school transcripts, certificates, degrees, and national exam assessment results must be presented in accordance with the country's laws. In the United States, candidates must have achieved the equivalent of high school graduation.
  • The minimal standardised test scores allowed for undergraduate admissions at the University of North Texas are 18 in English, 22 in Reading and Math, and 23 in Science. Check out these ACT Preparation Tips.
  • Minimum SAT scores must be 1500 out of 2400 (if taken prior to March 2016) and 1090 out of 1600 (if taken after March 2016).
  • A copy of the results of the English language proficiency exam

Postgraduate Eligibility

  • Bachelor's degree programme transcripts
  • Verification of financial aid in the form of an International Students Sponsor Certificate and Bank Certification, which ranges between USD 34,000 and USD 40,200 depending on the college. Before making any contributions, these expenses must be verified.

  2. International students must pay an $85/INR 6,914 application fee to the University of North Texas. They can pay with a credit card, money order or check. The cost is non-refundable and must be paid in US dollars.
  3. Send legitimate high school and college transcripts, diplomas, and degree certificates through the mail. These should be written in English as well as in your native language. An academic institution or a licenced translator must complete the shared English translations. The institution does not accept notarised or copied transcripts.
  4. Students must demonstrate their English language skills by IELTS, TOEFL, or other tests.
