The University of Aberdeen has a large amount of student housing within walking distance of its main teaching facility. There are both University-run halls and privately owned and managed halls available, all of which are within reasonable walking distance of campus.

Elphinstone Road Flats - £156 per week for 50 weeks(PG)

Off-campus accommodation:

  • The typical monthly rent is between 600 and 700 Pounds.
  • Studio flats, 3-bedroom apartments, 4-bedroom apartments, and shared apartments are available.
  • The student homes are completely furnished and have all of the essential amenities such as free WiFi, on-site laundry, CCTV, and a secure door entrance.

There are several scholarships available for undergraduate and graduate students.

UK Visa Requirements for Indian Students

You can apply for a student visa at least six months before the start of your degree, and you will get a decision within three working weeks under normal conditions.

We recommend that you schedule your arrival based on the length of your course. If your study is for six months or less, you can come to the UK up to one week ahead, but if your course is for more than six months, you can arrive up to one month prior.

To be eligible for a student visa, you must meet the following requirements:

  • Have an unconditional offer of a place on a programme from a licenced sponsor/ CAS reference number and papers needed to get CAS
  • A valid English proficiency score
  • Financial evidence, i.e. demonstrating sufficient funds to maintain yourself and pay for your course

Documents necessary for obtaining a student visa when applying for a visa, you will often require:

  • A valid passport or other travel documents
  • Evidence of funding to pay your living needs during your training.
  • Reference number for Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) and papers required to get CAS
  • Color photos in passport size
  • Tuberculosis testing (mandatory for South Asian countries)
  • Documentation of assessment
  • Certificate of clearance from the Academic Technology Approval Scheme (ATAS) (if required)
