Eligibility Criteria to Study at the University of Leicester

Undergraduate (Bachelors) degrees

You may be eligible for admission to a first-year Bachelor's degree programme if you received at least a 75% overall grade in your standard XII examination from the CISCE/CBSE or another reputable state test board. You will require an overall grade point average of 80% or above and higher individual grades of 85% in the pertinent disciplines for various courses at the University of Leicester.

Postgraduate (Masters) degrees

You will be given consideration for admission to a Masters's programme if you have a Bachelor's degree from an Indian university with a First class classification and an average of at least 60/75% (depending on the subject you wish to study).

PhDs and other research degrees

A First Class undergraduate (Bachelors) degree from an accredited Indian university, equivalent to a UK Upper Second Class Honours degree (also known as a 2:1), and a minimum average of 60/75% are required to apply for a PhD (or other postgraduate research qualification). Offers may vary depending on the intended subject of study. Additionally, you must be able to show that you have actual expertise in the best research procedures.
