Eligibility Criteria to Study at the University of Leicester

Undergraduate (Bachelors) degrees

You may be eligible for admission to a first-year Bachelor's degree programme if you received at least a 75% overall grade in your standard XII examination from the CISCE/CBSE or another reputable state test board. You will require an overall grade point average of 80% or above and higher individual grades of 85% in the pertinent disciplines for various courses at the University of Leicester.

Postgraduate (Masters) degrees

You will be given consideration for admission to a Masters's programme if you have a Bachelor's degree from an Indian university with a First class classification and an average of at least 60/75% (depending on the subject you wish to study).

PhDs and other research degrees

A First Class undergraduate (Bachelors) degree from an accredited Indian university, equivalent to a UK Upper Second Class Honours degree (also known as a 2:1), and a minimum average of 60/75% are required to apply for a PhD (or other postgraduate research qualification).
