A Complete Guide to Study at Swansea University

It's a lengthy process that calls for patience, consideration, and a little luck, from conducting fundamental research to applying and, hopefully, anticipating good news.

We have done that all for you! Since 1920, Swansea University has produced studies of the highest calibre. They've worked with business and industry for a long time. Still, today's research has a much more significant influence, affecting a global community's health, prosperity, culture, and well-being. Many people find it quite challenging to select a university for their degree.

Swansea University is a dynamic, expanding university in South Wales. As a result of our unparalleled level of success, our research output has recently eclipsed that of numerous more prominent colleges. They anticipate growing into a genuinely worldwide institution as a 21st-century university, concentrating on essential concerns, enhancing lives, and offering inspiring instruction. Science topics have historically excelled, but the widely respected humanities subjects have provided substantial support.

Did You Know?

Swansea has a fantastic 97% employment rate, placing it in the top 15 for graduate employment.

Swansea's cost of living is lower than those of other significant UK cities. The city is alive, pleasant, and frequently described as a "home away from home." Swansea's students, who routinely rank the university in the top 10 of the National Student Survey, claim that it offers one of the best student experiences in the UK.

Singleton and the more recent Bay are the two campuses that make up Swansea University. The former, built in the early 1920s, is next to Singleton Park, the largest urban park in the city and a favourite among families since it is safe for kids to play in and has lovely botanical gardens. Brynmill Park, which contains a lake, a bowling alley, a kids' play area, and an animal protection centre, is another fantastic location. The 2015 opening of The Bay campus puts it just a few steps from the shore. Imagine living in a location that serves as both a student residence and a vacation home.

An eight-lane track, training facility, playing fields for sports including football, lacrosse, and cricket, hockey rinks, a climbing wall, and a spin room are just a few of the athletic amenities the university provides for its students. It also includes the publically accessible Museum of Egyptian Antiquities, which displays a collection of more than 4,000 objects.

Housing options:
Accommodations are offered on both campuses and off-campus at Beck House and Hendrefoelan Student Village. Beach Campus provides twin/shared ensuite rooms, premium ensuites, and one- and two-bedroom apartments. Here, there are 2002 rooms with direct access to the water. These housing options are for first-year, graduate, and returning students.

The Singleton Campus is adjacent to Swansea Bay, the sports village, and Singleton Hospital. Swansea Bay, the sports complex, and Singleton Hospital are all close to the Singleton Campus. The complex's 1182 rooms, which are a mix of standard and en-suite rooms, self- and part-catered dining, and postgraduate and medical students can live there. Free internet, a common area, a mail room and help desk, laundries, etc., are some of the shared amenities available at both facilities.

Off-campus:

Hendrefoelan Student Village, also called HSV or the Village, is located over two miles from Singleton Park Campus. Seven buildings totalling 2 to 4 stories make up Beck House, and each one can house 6 to 11 students. Graduate, adult, and international students, as well as their families, are primarily housed there. The distance to the Singleton campus is 1.5 miles, and numerous renowned shops, bars, cafés, banks, and restaurants are nearby.
