If you have to study in Germany for Autumn 2022, you must know the latest update that the country has made regarding Blocked Bank Accounts. This applies to those currently studying in Germany and those who wish to get admitted in Autumn 2022; that is, for all those who have to obtain a German student visa or extend their student residence permit. A blocked bank account is nothing but a bank account in which international students can deposit the money they require to live in Germany. While the amount you currently require is EUR 10,332 per year, it is expected to increase to EUR 11,172 starting from the winter semester. Resultantly, the monthly allowance offered to international students through the German Federal Training Assistance Act will increase from EUR 861 to EUR 931.

It should be addressed to the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany, New Delhi or the Consulate General of the Federal Republic of Germany in Bangalore, Chennai, Kolkata or Mumbai. The visa fee, once paid, is not refundable.
