The Results and Scores section is one of the first things a student needs clarification on in a GMAT test. In a GMAT test, there will be four scores - Analytical Writing Assessment, Integrated Reasoning, Quantitative, Verbal and Total. Your scores in the Quantitative and Verbal sections will decide your total score on the GMAT test. You will also get a percentile score which helps you understand how better you have scored compared to other candidates who took the test.

If you wish to take the GMAT test, it is good to book your slots at least two to three months before your desired test date.Â
You can register six months in advance for the GMAT test.
The GMAT test 2023-24 can be taken anytime during the year. There is no timeline within which you should register for the test and schedule the date. You can take the test only five times a year, and there should be a gap of 16 days between the tests. You can take the test only eight times. It takes 21 days to get the results published.Â
Often, a score between 650 and 690 is considered good on the GMAT test. However, it is always better to score as high as you can so that your application has a higher chance of getting shortlisted. If you score above 700, you have a good chance of getting admission to a top university. A GMAT score of around 760 is considered the best. You need a GMAT score above 700 to get admission to well-ranked world universities like MIT, Harvard University, Columbia University, Yale University, Stanford University etc.

The minimum score in a GMAT test is 200, and the maximum score is 800. It is estimated by GMAC that most test takers score between 400 and 600. We have given a table below that shows the average GMAT scores in all the sections.

As soon as the GMAT test is taken, you can get a non-official score. You will get the official score after 20 days of taking the test.
