Australia’s Deakin University has come up with an epic reward for Indian students who consistently rank top in their academics. This is an act of celebrating the University’s successful collaboration with India and its highly-brilliant students for the past three decades. 

So to make the bond stronger and make the university, a more welcoming place for Indian students, the university head has announced scholarships worth Rs 30 Million for Indian Students alone. These scholarships are called Vice-Chancellor’s Scholarships, given specifically to deserving Indian students who want to pursue their higher education at Australia’s Deakin University.

Ravneet Pawha, Vice President and CEO at Deakin University, says that the idea of implementing this wonderful scheme will be rewarding for the highly talented young Indian minds and the Deakin University as well. By contributing scholarships and bursaries to Indian students to have a successful professional life and growth, the university is getting back 10 times more positive results as enhancement in reputation and growth of the university, both nationally and globally.

The leading professor at Deakin University, Ian Martin and also the university’s Vice-Chancellor, said that it is a warm and welcoming move by the university. Also, added, this move will go a long way and reap unprecedented benefits for both the Indian students as well as the university. He also made a point that the university has prioritized this idea and implemented it at the earliest because they felt the responsibility to nurture students’ lives and skills so that they can be great leaders for their country, community and the world. 

He further said, these constant efforts of providing scholarships and bursaries have resulted in a dynamic and thriving Indian alumni community at Deakin University who are constantly contributing new and progressive ideas for the welfare of the university to be a global leader in providing impactful and research-based education. He ended the speech by saying, the university is living a great happiness and delight by helping deserving students realize their full potential and capacity.

Apart from this fully-funded scholarship, delivering experts in the field of Science, Technology, Arts and more, also offers opportunities to deserving students to be part of the Vice-Chancellor’s Professional Excellence Program (VCPEP) where they can interact with leaders and achievers from all over the world.

Note - Since these scholarships are awarded to only four outstanding Indian students for their UG or PG courses of study per year, the competition to acquire this scholarship is pretty high.
Currently, deserving students can apply for this scholarship who are planning to apply for the July intake at Deakin University this year. Till date, 35 scholarships have been rolled out since it was initiated in the year 2014.

Another encouraging information related to the Vice-Chancellor’s Rs 30 Million Scholarships is that, additionally, 25% scholarship is provided to meritorious Indian students and 20% bursaries to financially backward students as a part of the scholarship.
