The Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery or BHMS is a medical degree that provides in-depth education on the homeopathic treatment of diseases. Though both MBBS and BHMS has the same course duration, their treatment style is entirely different.
The homeopathic medical system is based on the belief that the body can cure itself. And it uses minimal amounts of natural substances, such as plants and minerals, to treat diseases. The BHMS course focuses on modern applications of homeopathy and its numerous branches in medicine and surgery.
The total duration of the BHMS Course is 5.5 years, and it includes one-year internship at a recognised homeopathic hospital. This internship programme is aimed to give practical exposure to the students.
The annual tuition fee of the BHMS Course varies from institute to institute. Typically, government institutes charge a lower tuition fee than private ones. And the tuition fee in private colleges depends upon the college's reputation, the campus location, etc. Usually, the average annual tuition fee of BHMS in India stands for about ₹1 lakh. If you wish to do this course abroad, it will cost you much higher.
